Armored chassis for nuclear detection
A collaboration between LEMER and SERVI LOIRE
LEMER Foundry manufactures custom-made steel/lead shielded frames designed to house radiation detection devices in nuclear facilities. This project perfectly illustrates our ability to produce custom-made, turnkey shielded equipment that meets the most stringent requirements of sensitive industries, from nuclear to aerospace.
These frames are designed to accommodate a detector, enabling the radiation level of pipes in basic nuclear installations (BNI) to be monitored. Each part consists of a main frame, two half-shells, and sheet metal accessories. Dimensions: 600 mm long, 400 mm wide, and 400 mm high, with a theoretical weight of 223 kg after sealing. Over a two-year period, 26 frames and 52 half-shells were successfully manufactured, combining precision, safety, and reliability, thanks to the complementary skills of Servi Loire and LEMER Foundry.
