LEMER fuse plugs are manufactured in our workshops using lead or other low-melting-point metals such as tin, bismuth, or their alloys. These components are essential for applications requiring reliable thermal safety and precise activation in the event of overheating.
How it works
Fonderie LEMER designs low-melting-point fuse plugs—eutectic, single-phase, binary, or ternary alloys—perfectly matched to the vitrification temperature of your composite (from 20 °C to 380 °C). Each plug is precisely controlled using DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) thermal analyzers, ensuring an exact and reliable melting point for a safe and efficient process.
The fuse plug also functions as a sealed barrier, linking the interior and exterior of a casing or piping containing liquids or pressurized gases. It is designed to act when the system is accidentally exposed to high temperatures. Upon reaching the defined maximum temperature, the plug melts without any electrical trigger, preventing overpressure and ensuring the safety of your equipment.
