2,000 keys to paradise, crafted with over 100 years of history

The LEMER Foundry has manufactured 2,000 “keys to paradise” for the Saint-Tugen Chapel, combining craftsmanship and heritage preservation.
The LEMER Foundry is much more than just industrial expertise: it is also a vehicle for memory, transmission, and meaning. It is in this spirit that we have had the honor of committing ourselves to an exceptional heritage project alongside the ASPRP, the Association for the Preservation of the Religious Heritage of Primelin.
We have just completed the manufacture of 2,000 “keys to paradise” for the Saint-Tugen Chapel, a 16th-century gem located in southern Finistère. These small lead keys, imbued with strong symbolic value, were once given to parishioners. Today, they are offered to visitors to help finance and maintain this historic site.
Heritage preserved thanks to artisanal expertise
This project has a unique dimension: the keys were produced using a mold that is over 100 years old, demonstrating the continuity of techniques and craftsmanship.
Each key, measuring just a few centimeters, symbolizes the attributes of the chapel's founding saint, who has been venerated since the 6th century.
A lasting commitment to history and heritage
Through this initiative, LEMER Foundry reaffirms its commitment to cultural and heritage patronage. Supporting the restoration, preservation, and promotion of historical heritage is an integral part of our values, alongside technical excellence and respect for craftsmanship.
When foundries join forces with history and heritage preservation, meaningful projects are born. This is a concrete and inspiring example of that.
