Firefighters in action in Loroux-Bottereau

On Tuesday, October 5, our Loroux-Bottereau site welcomed around thirty firefighters from SDIS 44 as part of the training program for FPT (Territorial Public Service) fire chiefs.

Two drills were carried out:

  • A simulation of an industrial incident involving a fire breaking out on our melting equipment.
  • A chemical hazard drill involving the rescue of victims from the chemical storage room.

These drills serve a dual purpose:

  • For trainee firefighters, they provide an opportunity to put their skills into practice in near-real conditions.
  • For the site team, they provide an opportunity to learn about the correct first response procedures (evacuation, cutting off power, identifying hazardous equipment, etc.) in order to save precious time and limit the dangers in a real-life situation.

The day ended with a debriefing with all participants and a brief presentation of the foundry and its activities.

The LEMER team in Loroux-Bottereau would like to extend their warmest thanks to SDIS 44 for their professionalism, availability, and commitment to this essential mission: prevention, protection, and rescue.
